Stuart Capstick is based at Cardiff University and is jointly leading the Centre’s research Theme 3, designing and trialling new approaches to bring about change at all levels from the household to the national level.
Stuart researches public understanding of climate change and ways to engage people with the transformations needed to achieve emissions reduction. He has led work looking at how the social sciences can contribute to more radical emissions reduction through behaviour and lifestyle change, and has been involved in approaches to reducing the carbon footprint from our research activity. His research has also considered the ways in which we can develop effective climate change communication, working with others across the natural and social sciences and civil society. As part of his research within the CAST Centre, Stuart will be working with Welsh Government, 10:10 and others to develop new approaches to tackling climate change.
