Pete Dyson is a Doctoral Researcher specialising in sustainable travel behaviour change, examining social norms and attitudes to local transport, with a focus on electric vehicle adoption. He is the first to review the policy of green number plates for electric vehicles, develop a mechanism for their effects now and in the future, and apply experimental methods to investigate their impacts.
Pete’s specific interests are in the application of social norms, neighbourhood-level cooperation and ways people understand social dilemmas. Pete is also a committee member for the Environment Transport & Sustainability research group, a multi-disciplinary group hosted by members of the Department of Psychology.
Outside the university, Pete volunteers as Bicycle Mayor for Bath to promote cycling in the region.
