Dr Lois Pennington

Dr Lois Pennington is a Research Associate at the University of Manchester. Her work focuses on transport and city-level climate action, with a particular focus on the cultural and tourism sectors.

She is currently working on Themes 2 and 3 in CAST. Her work includes the UN Accelerator City for Climate Action programme in Liverpool, embedding and piloting approaches to decarbonising the live music, film and TV sectors and looking at the legacy in the city. She also works on aviation, and the transformation needed within the sector.

Lois comes from an engineering background, but her interests have always sat at the boundary between technology and people, how they are used, embedded, and shaped by policy.
