Dr Aimie Hope is a Doctoral Researcher focusing on learning for transformational climate mitigation.

Aimie joined CAST in October 2025 and will be examining the Centre’s Phase 1 research, activities and outputs to understand where findings have applicability across contexts, communities, scales and sectors. Aimie’s work will explore how and why transformative climate change action occurs, with a focus on the crucial role that society plays.

Aimie is collaborating with Dr Sarah Mander and Dr Claire Hoolahan on Theme 2 (Learning).

Aimie is an applied social scientist with a background in Environmental Psychology, who uses both qualitative and quantitative methods. Aimie has worked on a variety of applied projects (e.g., energy use change in moving off-grid, smoking cessation, improving child literacy). Before joining The University of Manchester, Aimie held postdoctoral positions at the University of Surrey, University of Bath and, most recently, the Tyndall Centre at the University of East Anglia.
