My name is Wasundara; which means ‘the earth’ in Sanskrit, so, I like to say I’m born to be in this sector. I’m a new PhD student who will be working with Tyndall Manchester and Greater Manchester Combined Authority, focusing on stakeholder engagement in city-level climate action.
Before my PhD, I worked as a policy analyst for the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association, where I advocated for the development of the UK’s biogas industry. I’ve also gained international experience through an internship with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition Secretariat of UNEP in 2021.
Academically, I hold a Master’s in Environmental Policy from Central European University in Austria and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh. My specialised expertise spans energy transitions, net zero strategies, and climate decarbonization.
I’m passionate about driving meaningful climate action through collaborative research, policy innovation, and incremental yet impactful steps towards a more resilient planet. Simply put, my passion is to fight climate change in baby steps!
